Shopping

One list, sorted the way the store is.

Add a recipe, a whole week or “2 lb chicken thighs” — Coena files it in the right aisle, merges it with what's already there and skips what's in the pantry. Everyone at home sees the same list, live.

A shopping list grouped by store aisle

The list

Smarter than a note on the fridge.

Grouped by aisle A 2,400-phrase aisle dictionary files items as you add them, learns your corrections, and follows your store's order.
Amounts that add up 2 cups milk + 1 cup milk = 3 cups. Different units stay readable side by side.
Skips what you have Adding a recipe or a week leaves out what's in the pantry, and tells you what it skipped.
Live for everyone Check off the eggs and they're checked on every phone in the house, instantly.
Several lists Groceries, the warehouse store, the farmers market — each with its own items.
Store mode Big rows for one-handed shopping, and checked items move out of the way. Undo a mis-tap.

Grocery prices

Your stores. Real prices.

Choose the stores you shop at — by ZIP code or your location — and switch any of them on or off right from the list. Coena prices every item at the stores you pick and totals your list, each store in its own view with a label that says where the prices come from.

  • Prices per item, per store, and for the whole week's plan
  • The cost of a recipe and of a serving
  • Pick a different product when Coena's match isn't the one you buy

Where prices come from

Every number says where it's from.

Grocery prices are messy, so Coena labels each one. It never fills a gap with a made-up number.

Live prices at Kroger-family stores
At Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, King Soopers, Harris Teeter, Smith's, Fry's, QFC and the rest of the Kroger family: regular and sale prices, sizes and availability at the store you chose, from Kroger's public product API. With your own Kroger account connected, you can send the list to your Kroger cart for pickup or delivery.
Community prices
From Open Prices, an open database of prices shoppers record at stores around the world, shown with the date they were seen.
Estimates
When none of those has the item, an estimate from US average retail prices published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics — always marked as an estimate.
Not available
Many chains don't offer prices to apps. For those stores Coena says “prices not available” instead of guessing.

After the store

Unpack straight into the pantry.

When you're home, move everything you checked off into the pantry in one tap — it lands in the fridge, freezer or cupboard where it belongs, ready for “What can I make?”.
